Sharon Wheeler’s ScarWork (2-part course)
October 25, 2022 @ 10:00 am – October 26, 2022 @ 6:00 pm
Please note this course will be in TWO PARTS
Part 2: 15-16th November. Please make sure you are also available for these dates in November.
“Thanks for a wonderful course and sharing this incredible work with us all. such powerful work that is potentially life changing. It’s eye opening to see how by working on one tiny mole removal scar, an arm that has restricted movement, can become fully mobile in the space of 15 mins. It’s also incredible to witness the innate healing ability of the body, in the way that some scar edges can become unified after having been apart for many years, in the space of minutes.“
(Justine Hutchins – student, June/July ’22)
Timings: 10.00 am to 6.00 pm each day.

This course is run in two parts; this allows you time to learn the basics of ScarWork with some prime techniques, and then have time to practice them on friends and family (not paying clients) before the next part of the course. This has been shown to be beneficial to learners and facilitate consolidation of the information.
This course is open to qualified hands-on practitioners with a minimum of one year in practice. A well-designed, four-day course that will change how you see scars and the body. The length of the course allows you the time and space to develop your confidence and skills by practising not only on fellow students but on members of the public; this means that you will be able to work on scars immediately on return to your clinic. Taught by Jan Trewartha, the UK’s first accredited ScarWork tutor and lead editor and author of Scars, Adhesions and the Biotensegral Body.
This work is the brainchild of Sharon Wheeler.
Working with scar tissue is like speaking another language in the world of fascia. ScarWork is light, relaxed and effective on most scars. It is easy to learn and a pleasure to do. There are over 20 techniques that are designed to smooth out uneven lumps, bumps, ridges, strings, gaps, and fill holes painlessly, re-establishing the resilient 3D quality of the fascial web has been known to create better functioning. More than this, we teach you an approach to scars and adhesions, and how to follow the tissue as it replays its traumatic patterning. Further training on following tissue is available as part of the Fascial Unwinding and Energy Awareness courses we also run.
With the restrictions and adhesions of a scar resolved, impaired nerves can regain sensation and internal organ functions can normalize. Not to mention that the cosmetic effect can be remarkable.
This is a 4-day course. Training includes covering the emotional effect of scars, and full body integration after treatment. You are encouraged to volunteer your own scars for work to experience this first hand and we will have a variety of scar models (members of the public) joining us for practice sessions. We aim to bring you to a level of confidence, by the end of the course, that will enable you to start working with scars immediately in your practice, once your insurance has been arranged.
Insurance: This course is insurable through Balens, Holistic Insurance, BABTAC, IPTI, Graybrook Insurance Brokers and the FHT subject to your qualifications.
